I had heard a lot of bad things about the pacesetter shorties, but the guys on performancetrucks.net have good results with the pacesetter longtubes. There's more pacesetter logtubes on 99+ GM trucks than any other headers on that forum, and there aren't very many complaints, I think I'm gonna try'em.
If the coating does end up messing up, I'll probably jet hot them since we need to get our drag nova's headers coated too.

Jason, I was gonna stop by the new shop last week and let you know what was going on with the truck, but I guess you know now. Oh yeah, the new shop looks good, you were real busy last time but I still checked it out.

Well my pistons won't be in untill the week of June 25th, they're on backorder from Mahle, so this really delays my project. These are the pistons I'm getting:http://www.flatlanderracing.com/mahle-ppakchevy04.html, they're over 50grams lighter than the stock pistons.
The project should turn out nicer though, since I have more time for it.
I did manage to get the block painted though

Not to get off subject here, but how's his work. I've been thinking about powdercoating my StealthRam system, a few brackets, etc.

His setup is the real deal, its large enough that he powercoats heavy equpment in there. Its the real system where the piece and the powder particles are negatively charged and they adhere to each other. I've seen some of the results and they look good, but havn't used him yet. He's pretty new, he's got a big shop near the old state patrol office on 301 north.

What's the name of it? I might try and stop by tomorrow about lunch time and talk to him about some parts. Really would like to get some stuff done but I don't have a ton of money either.

Awesome....yea, if you can, send me the number. I'd like to drop some stuff off to him today and hopefully pick it up on Thursday if he can do that or Friday morning before lunch. The local shop here in Brunswick quoted me $150 for what I want to get done and said it would take him 2 days but just don't know his quality.

Default Finally!

Well this crap is finally going in!
My old motor&tranny are out, and I cleaned, sanded, and painted the frame (black of course), so the truck is ready for me to set the 6.0 motor in there.
I'm gonna assemble the engine tommorow, I got the block honed and cam bearings pressed in, so it should be good to go.
After these Mahle pistons being on back order for so long, I had to cancel my order because I just don't have enough money to finish the project and buy the $600 set of pistons.
The stock pistons are in great shape, so I will reuse them, and just re-ring it. The stock pistons will limit me to about 450rwhp safely (my DD), but I'm fine with that kind of power. There are plenty of other things that I need to improve on the truck like the tranny, rear end, and suspension/frame setup. I probably will only be able to run about 8psi boost safely (overly safe).
But, the project is getting real progress on it, and I have pretty much all the parts to finish it up now.
Pics to come!
